All About CBD

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol is a compound present in the hemp plant that has been studied across the globe to have enormous therapeutic value. It is a non-psychoactive component whose value as a supplement aid in numerous medical conditions is the buzzing topic amongst scientists, health professionals and patients as well. Clinical research centres around the world are analysing the potential of CBD as a new hope for people with chronic conditions. Scientists claim CBD delivers therapeutic benefits in unique ways while tapping how humans function biologically and physiologically at a very deep level.

How does CBD work?

CBD interacts with the human body’s endocannabinoid system. The Endocannabinoid System helps in maintaining the proper functioning of vital physiological processes of the human body. The endocannabinoid receptors are found throughout the entire human bod: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, immune cells etc.

The Endocannabinoid System performs different functions in each different kind of tissue, BUT the goal is always the same, homeostasis–maintaining a stable internal environment despite fluctuations in the external environment.

CBD is a cannabinoid that binds to these receptors like a key in the lock and activates the endocannabinoid system. Its effect on the body occurs in such a way that it does not induce feelings of euphoria and works on enhancing bodily functions.

What is the ideal dosage?

The ideal CBD dosage varies from body to body. With CBD there is no fixed dosage like one size fits all. Users need to be patient and self-calibrate their dosage with help from their physician if needed. We recommend beginning with a 1ml dose twice a day. This can further be adjusted according to specific needs.

Suggested Dosage*

  • For morning/day time: 500mg, 1ml, 3 times a day
  • For insomnia: 1500 mg, 1ml before dinner, 1ml 15 minutes before hitting the bed
  • For chronic pain, anxiety, and stress relief: 1000 mg, 1ml 3 times a day.

*personal effects may vary.

Will CBD get me high?

No. The high is caused by a cannabinoid called THC. Our CBD is derived from the hemp plant which contains negligible amounts of THC which are further removed during the extraction process. All 13 Extracts products contain 0% THC and therefore does not get you high.
